Mbabane City

This is the administrative capital of the country with a population of more than 40,000. It is sheltered by the Dlangeni Hills and, having an altitude os around 1200, the quaint city have a marvellous climate generally free of extreme temperatures. Mbabane (the name means something sharp and bitter) was founded in 1902 and chosen as the site of the Colonial Administration because of it's high altitude and healthy climate.

Government offices are based here and the main complex on the outskirts of the central business district houses, among others, houses the Ministries of Agriculture, Education, Public Works, Health, and the Swaziland Chamber of Commerce. Mbabane is growing at an impressive rate and provides a full range of facilities for every description. There are several pleasant residential areas containing some impressive homes.
